MetaSensing & EnduroSat Partner to Accelerate SAR Satellite Access

Sofia / Milan, March 2026EnduroSat and MetaSensing today announced a strategic partnership to offer a fully integrated, highly flexible SAR constellation-as-service solution. Under the partnership, MetaSensing SAR payloads will be integrated on EnduroSat’s FRAME satellites and delivered through an end-to-end service.

Defense agencies, government operators, and commercial constellation providers continue to face high program costs, fragmented supply chains, and long deployment cycles when building space-based Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) capability. These constraints slow national programs, undermine commercial constellation profitability, and reduce the pace at which operators can deliver innovative applications and mission-critical intelligence. EnduroSat and MetaSensing today announced a strategic partnership designed to solve these barriers by offering a fully integrated, highly flexible SAR satellite constellation-as-service.


The Growing Importance of SAR Intelligence

Modern government, defense, and commercial missions increasingly depend on SAR intelligence because it delivers reliable insights independent of weather, daylight, and cloud cover. For defense and national security, SAR provides persistent situational awareness across borders, coastlines, and areas of strategic interest. Government agencies rely on SAR for crisis response, flood and wildfire assessment, and infrastructure surveillance. Commercial operators use SAR for asset monitoring, precision mapping, surveying and early-warning applications across energy, agriculture, insurance, and logistics. As global reliance on continuous, actionable intelligence grows, SAR has become an essential layer of sovereign capability and commercial competitiveness—yet remains limited by access, cost, and deployment speed. The EnduroSat – MetaSensing partnership addresses this gap directly.


Integrated SAR Capability, Delivered as a Service

The partnership creates a new, fully integrated SAR offering that enables customers to:

MetaSensing brings extensive experience across defense, commercial, and scientific radar missions, underpinned by two complementary and technologically mature X-band SAR payloads, PhoeniX and StarSAR-X. Together, they enable high-resolution SAR imaging from 0.125 m class to 0.3–1 m class across Spotlight, Stripmap, ScanSAR, and TopSAR acquisition modes:

  • PhoeniX: a compact, high-performance SAR payload designed for Earth observation, persistent monitoring, and high-revisit operational scenarios, combining efficiency with robust imaging capabilities.
    StarSAR-X: a fully phased-array, multi-channel SAR instrument featuring advanced electronic beam steering, tailored for demanding ISR and high-precision mapping applications.

Both payloads are fully integrated on EnduroSat’s ESPA-class satellites and delivered as an end-to-end space service, covering mission design, integration, launch and in-orbit operations. The FRAME family provides payload configuration flexibility through its modular, software-defined architecture. Its patented cableless design enables precise tailoring to mission requirements with no additional engineering, allowing a single technician to complete Assembly, Integration, and Testing (AIT) in 8 hours. Combined with EnduroSat’s constellation-as-a-service solution, FRAME satellites provide the infrastructure backbone for unprecedented speed in deploying SAR constellations.
